Egg recall: One person in Hawaii sick from Salmonella outbreak

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A company that sold eggs at Nijiya Market in Hawaii has initiated a recall.

At least one person is sick in Hawaii from a Salmonella outbreak linked to eggs that affected around 100 people so far across 14 states.

Country Eggs of Lucerne Valley in California is recalling its “Large Brown Cage Free Sunshine Yolks,” which have been linked to the outbreak.

According to the FDA, eggs that are part of the recall were sold with the “Sell By” dates of July 1 to Sept. 18.

Those who purchased the eggs are being told to either bring them back to the store for a refund or dispose of them.

Salmonella symptoms can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
