HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 20-acre brush fire in the Kahikinui area on Maui prompted emergency evacuations on Sunday, June 15.
The incident had officials from the Maui Emergency Management Agency alerting residents to grab their “go bag” and evacuate family and pets immediately.
According to Maui County, all residents should have an emergency go kit packed and ready to go in the event of an emergency.
The bag should have enough essential supplies to “help you survive and stay safe for at least 72 hours in an emergency or sudden evacuation.”
Officials said bags should be ready for work, each family member, pets and include a vehicle safety kit.
