HONOLULU (KHON2) — Over 85 marching groups representing different organizations walked Kainalu Drive for this years 75th annual Kailua 4th of July Independence Day Parade.
“Seeing how the community reacts to all the floats and how people are going all out is really special…we even have folks who were in the parade 75-years go,” said Asia Di Antonio, Kailua Chamber of Commerce Committee Chair and parade organizer.
“Everyone rallies together to support the country to support America it doesn’t matter what political side we all come celebrate together,” said Kailua resident Brooks Baehr.
Neighbors plan to keep the parties going up until the firework show which will start at 8 p.m. at Kailua Beach Park.
“Straight chillin, just chillin. It’s like a block party you look down the street and straight filled with everyone and it’s awesome to see everyone chillin,” added another Kailua resident Chris Zelasko.
If you cant find parking for the show you can take shuttles from the bus stop at longs parking lot or the beach center right run until 10:30 p.m.
