Five teens arrested following assault, kidnapping at Kalama Intermediate School

MAKAWAO, Maui (KHON2) — Maui police have arrested five female teens in connection with an assault and kidnapping investigation.

Police say that the incident happened on Sept. 26 at Kalama Intermediate School around 1 p.m.

According to police, a 13-year-old male student was involved in an incident with five female students in a soundproof room.

Police added that the male was unable to leave the room while some of the females blocked the door, one holding his arm, and another holding the door closed.

Several of the female students recorded the incident on their phones. After about 20 minutes, the male student was able to leave the room.

On Monday, Oct. 20, police arrested four females, three aged 13 and one aged 14, and charged them with Assault in the Third Degree and Kidnapping.

One female was arrested and charged with Kidnapping.
