Food2Go: Honu Acai

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Fueling Hawaiʻi with fresh flavors — this next acai spot is serving up vibrant bowls and smoothies in Kapolei and all over Oahu.

Co-owners Ashley Conn and Wesley Grein, of Honu Acai joined Food2Go on Wake Up 2Day Friday with a peak at their history and their menu.

Honu Acai just celebrated their one year anniversary in August.

“Originally, my business degree is in marketing and management, and so I’ve always had this passion and desire to be an entrepreneur and open my own business,” Grein said. “About two years ago, Ashley nudged me to take the leap of faith and become a business owner, and so we went on marketplace, bought a flatbed trailer and every day after work, my dad, Ashley and I would build the trailer piece by piece. It slowly became the trailer that we’re working in today. While we were building it we were going to all of the acai spots around the island and trying what we liked about each one and taking notes of it, and that’s sort of how we crafted our menu.”
