Giving back
The tradition of free Slurpee drinks at 7-Eleven on July 11 started to celebrate the brand’s 75th birthday. Since 2002, 7-Eleven has reported millions of Slurpee drinks given away over the years.
According to their website, they focused on housing insecurity, mental health, food insecurity, keiki and kupuna in 2024.
“We are very proud to give away about $200,000 every year,” said Amanda Kutaka, marketing manager at 7-Eleven Hawaii.

All funds contributed through donation canisters in one of the 7-Eleven Hawaii locations support the program.
“We’re really proud to say that the work that we do here benefits our local community,” Kutaka said.
