HONOLULU (KHON2) — This week’s Wags and Whiskers feature desperately needs your help.
Unfortunately, Maui Humane Society’s dog population has exceeded safe capacity, and 10-year-old sweetheart Usher is part of their Lifesaving Protocol Crisis Response. If a home isn’t found for Usher by Oct. 30, he will be euthanized.

Meet Usher, a gentle dog who came to Maui Humane Society in April from a home with more than 20 dogs.
He can be very shy at first–but with a little patience, gentle love and a few tasty treats, Usher comes out of his shell and shows his soft, loving personality.
Life in the shelter has been hard on Usher. He’s struggling in the busy environment and truly needs a calm, comforting home by Oct. 30.
Usher would do best in a home with another calm and friendly female dog to help him feel safe and confident.
After everything he’s been through, Usher deserves to spend his golden years surrounded by love and kindness.
If you have room in your heart and home, please consider giving this special boy the happy ending he’s been waiting for. The at-risk dog interest form can be completed at the adoption page on their website.
