HONOLULU (KHON2) — The 2025 USA Mullet Championship is back! The competition not only raises awareness for beautiful mullets nationwide but also supports charity.
100% of the donations raised by the competitors are given back to Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors. The organization focuses on providing homes to Veterans who were wounded in combat. These homes are mortgage-free, injury-specific, and safely built to ensure independence.
All contestants compete to raise donations and votes throughout the competition. There are multiple rounds that the contestants must pass to make it to the finals.
A $10,000 cash prize is awarded to the winner of each division. These divisions include kids, teens and adults. But most importantly, they get to claim the title “Mullet Champion.”
This year, brothers are competing from Hawaii, hoping to go for the gold.

This year’s competitors and their mullet names are Treyl in the Teen 13-7 category, “Kauai Island Roots” mullet; Trayce in kids ages 5-7, “Da Kauai Grown Mane” mullet; and Tyde in kids 5-7, “Da Rooster Tail” mullet.
Each mullet has a special name and meaning to the contestants.
“Since we are from Kauai, I had to try and add that in the name,” Dannica Orsatelli, mom, said. “The rooster tail [mullet name] is for my son because he loves chickens. We were trying to figure something out one day, when he was holding his chicken, I was like “oh my gosh, look at his tail!” His mullet is like the rooster tail.”

You can vote and donate for these mullet masters on the Mullet Championship website or submit your own mane game for next year’s competition.

“If we win, Hawaii celebrates, our heroes get the help they deserve and kids learn to rock their mullet without fear,” Orsatelli exclaimed.
National champions for each division will be announced Sept. 20-24.
