KAHALA, Hawaii (KHON2) – For over four decades at the Kahala Mall, hundreds of people have been finding the coolest costumes they can find in their house, adorn themselves to look pretty dapper, have some fun while they’re at it too and have a Halloween costume contest.
This is going to be the 45th year at the Kahala Mall and they break it up into different age categories and we have had many family and friends dressing up and having so much fun.
The three different categories include the original costume, the most fun or cutest and the judge’s choice.
KHON2 was able to take a stroll up one of the aisles as everyone was getting prepped and who had the coolest costume out of the bunch.
One headless trick-or-treater spent a month putting their costume together. With the idea stemming from their father, they are sure they will win.
Other costumes included Groot, a Dragon ninja, an Insta-pot, a vending machine and more.
The most original, I’ve seen a baby dressed up as a shave ice, ice shave if you’re on the Big Island which I don’t get but it is what it is. Just kidding.
At the Kahala Mall, the Halloween festivities aren’t going to end tonight as Halloween is next week Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. comes the return of the annual Halloween full-mall Trick-or-Treating where more than 50 different tenants here at the Kahala Mall will be giving things away on Halloween evening.
