HONOLULU (KHON2) — If you have tried to ship an online order from Sam’s Club to Hawai‘i lately, you may have been surprised to learn that your order didn’t go through. That wasn’t an error.
The company confirmed that online orders are no longer being shipped to Hawai‘i. In a statement to KHON2, a spokesperson said the following:
We are no longer shipping items from SamsClub.com to members in Hawaii. Members can still access the most popular items ordered on SamsClub.com and enjoy a range of benefits and services at our Pearl City and Honolulu clubs….

In some cases, trying to ship a product to Hawaii resulted in a message on the Sam’s Club app, saying, “This item can’t be shipped to Hawaii.” In other cases, shoppers were able to add items to their cart, but upon checking out, received a pop-up message that said, “Some items can’t be shipped to this address at this time. Please try again later or change the address….”
On its perks update page, Sam’s Club shows a message to shoppers that says “perks are changing Aug 19.” That page encourages members to check the terms and conditions of the different shopping methods.
The store’s Terms and Conditions — which were last updated in March 2025 — explicitly state that “Ship To Home” is not available for Sam’s Club members in Hawai‘i. For Plus members, free shipping is available only to the contiguous United States (excluding Hawai‘i and Alaska).
“If Sam’s Club decides to allow shipping to Hawaii, members may incur a surcharge for orders shipped to Hawaii in addition to shipping charges,” the terms and conditions read.
These changes come roughly a year after Sam’s Club stopped offering free shipping on all orders for Plus members. Instead, the store implemented a $50 minimum for orders to qualify for free or same-day shipping.
KHON2 is working to learn more about the reasoning behind this change.
What services are still available?
Katelynn Gorton, a spokesperson for Sam’s Club Corporate Communications, told KHON2 that in-person member perks will still be available to Sam’s Club members in Hawai‘i.
“Members can still access the most popular items ordered on SamsClub.com and enjoy a range of benefits and services at our Pearl City and Honolulu clubs,” Gorton said. “These services include Curbside Pickup, Delivery from Club, Express Delivery, early shopping hours, and more.”
Starting on August 19, Plus members will not need to pay the $8 fee on orders over $50 for same-day delivery, according to Sam’s Club. Also starting August 19, Club members will get free curbside pickup on orders of at least $50.
Sam’s Club also said that membership costs are not increasing with the coming changes. Learn more about what other perks may be changing on the Sam’s Club website.
