Hawaiʻi standouts Jayden Maiava and Titus Mokiao-Atimalala deliver in Week 7

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Hawaiʻi natives Jayden Maiava and Titus Mokiao-Atimalala each made big plays in Week 7 of the college football season, helping their teams secure key victories.

Maiava led USC to a 31-13 upset win over No. 15 Michigan on Saturday. The Kaimuki graduate was sharp from start to finish, completing 25 of 32 passes for 265 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

The win marks another strong performance for the redshirt freshman, who continues to settle into his starting role with the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Ewa Beach’s Titus Mokiao-Atimalala kept his scoring streak alive for UCLA. The Campbell High alum caught his third touchdown of the season, hauling in his only reception for 12 yards in the Bruins’ 38-13 win over Michigan State.

Mokiao-Atimalala now has touchdowns in back-to-back games as he continues to build chemistry with the UCLA offense.

Both players have become key contributors to their respective programs.

Recorded four total tackles, two of them solo, including a tackle for loss and one pass defended, in a 30-20 loss to Indiana.

De’zhaun Stribling, wide receiver, Ole Miss (Kapolei, HI)
Recorded six receptions for 63 yards in a 24-21 win over Washington State.

Tevarua Tafiti, linebacker, Stanford (Waipahu, HI)
Recorded five total tackles, all assists, in a 34-10 loss to SMU.

Liona Lefau, linebacker, Texas (Laʻie, HI)
Recorded four total tackles, all assists, in a 23-6 win over Oklahoma.

Kamu Kaʻaihue, linebacker, UNLV (Papaikou, HI)
Recorded four total tackles, all assists, in a 51-48 win over Air Force.
