Hawaii basketball gains commitment from Marcus Greene

The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team gained a commitment from Houston Christian graduate transfer Marcus Greene.

After losing point guards JoVon McClanahan and Juan Munoz to graduation, Greene fills one of the team’s biggest needs, proving depth at the point guard position.

Greene, a 6-foot-2 native of Gilroy, Calif., averaged 15.1 points and 3.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds per game, shooting 42.7% from 3-point range and 78.6% from the free throw line.

Greene began his college career at Sacramento State before spending his sophomore season at Panola College in Carthage, Texas.

Greene is the second Hawaii commit of the offseason, joining Utah Tech signee Tanner Christensen.
