HONOLULU (KHON2) — Juan Baron, the suspect in a high-profile murder case, is seeking to change his plea once again.
Baron is asking a judge to withdraw his guilty plea, which he entered in March as part of a plea agreement with the state and his former attorney.
Now represented by attorney Randall Hironaka, Baron intends to re-enter not guilty pleas and requests to reset the case for trial.
He faces charges of second-degree murder, identity theft, and theft.
Baron is accused of killing his lover, 73-year-old Gary Ruby, in Ruby’s Hawaii Loa Ridge home in 2022.
