In this week’s episode of Hawai’i Sports 2Night, we sit down with University of Hawai‘i football Associate Head Coach and Linebackers Coach Chris Brown, a homegrown standout who has come full circle in his football journey.
A graduate of Damien Memorial School, Brown was a four-year starter for the Rainbow Warriors, earning All-Conference honors and Hula Bowl MVP recognition. He fulfilled a lifelong dream by playing in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens before transitioning into coaching. His career on the sidelines has taken him from Hawai‘i high school football to national powerhouse Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, and eventually back home to Manoa, joining former teammate Timmy Chang’s staff at UH.
In the episode, Brown shares his path from player to coach, what drives him, and the mindset he instills in his players, what he calls the “Lion’s Den” mentality.
