HDOT releases airport apps for Honolulu, Līhuʻe

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Two new, free airport wayfinding apps have been released by the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation.

The apps are designed to make traversing through airports on the islands less stressful and more enjoyable.

Currently, there are two apps: the HNL Airport app for Honolulu’s airport and the LIH Airport app for Līhuʻe’s airport.

The apps will offer a new navigation experience throughout the airport terminals and will also include links to flight information, the airport website, airport services and more.

Similar to Google or Apple Maps, users can find themselves on the app with a blue dot, which will move along with the user.

Users can also mark points of interest throughout the airports, such as baggage claim, restaurants, shops, lounges and more.

For Honolulu, there is also an online parking count feature, which shows estimated available parking stalls at the airport. The number of available stalls will be refreshed every 10 minutes per parking structure.
