HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department was dispatched to rescue an injured hiker on Ehukai Pillbox Trail Monday morning.
It was reported that the hiker – a 47-year-old female – was injured in a fall near the pillbox.
HFD made their way on foot to the hiker and made the decision there to have her flown out.
She was packaged on Air 1 and flown to a landing zone at Sunset Beach Elementary School.
Patient care was then transferred to Emergency Medical Services.
HFD personnel were all accounted for and no other injuries were reported.
