HONOLULU (KHON2) — With the holidays wrapping up, the Honolulu City Lights will soon follow suit. The special 40th anniversary display inside Honolulu Hale will close on Jan. 1 and the exterior lights will go dark on Jan. 3.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the lights, Mike Gangloff of Show Aloha Land donated 250 feet of lighted tunnels, 50 illuminated trees and other festive decorations. These specialized displays will also close Jan. 3.
While the displays are being taken down, navigate the area with caution as work trucks and crews will be transporting the large displays to storage until next season.
