Hawaii program connects local farms to keiki for millions of healthy meals

Summer Read to Me events began on June 8 and will have several opportunities through July 27. Each session is slated from 8 a.m. to noon at select restaurants on Oahu.

The program will consist of three to four book readings, bookmark making and singing and learning activities provided by Read to Me International, a local non-profit organization that provides parents with the skills and techniques to engage their keiki in a read-aloud.

Raising Cane’s Stuff Da Bus Back to School Supply Drive and Celebration will benefit the Aloha United Way Society of Young Leaders.

The event is set for Sunday, July 14 from noon to 2 p.m. at Raising Cane’s in Pearl City.

Those who would like to participate should bring new school supplies! The goal is to stuff the whole bus with supplies our keiki need for school.
