HPD arrests boy, 15, for alleged animal abuse

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion for Cruelty to Animals in the Second Degree, the department said.

According to HPD, the juvenile was arrested this afternoon following a video circulating on social media that showed a suspect repeatedly striking a dog.

HPD said the dog is now being cared for by the Hawaiian Humane Society.

Those who witness animal abuse are urged to immediately call 911 or visit any police station to report it.
