HPD opens multiple investigations into vehicle arson, armed robbery

WAI’ANAE, Hawai’i (KHON2) — HPD has opened an investigation into a vehicle arson incident that occurred on Oct. 3 in Waiʻanae.

HPD reported that around 9:55 p.m., HFD and District 8 Patrol officers responded to a vehicle fire on private property along Hakimo Road in Waiʻanae.

The complainant, a 24-year-old female, reported her 2017 white Dodge flatbed truck caught fire after seeing an unknown individual on her property through her home security system.

On Oct. 4, HPD has opened another investigation into an armed robbery that occurred in Mililani.

HPD reported that around 9:00 am, officers responded to a robbery committed by three male suspects at a business on Ukuwai Street.

Official said the 30-year-old victim was grabbed from behind by one suspect while another revealed a firearm and declared a robbery. A third suspect then entered the business and began to take money from the register.

It was reported that all three suspects fled the scene eastbound on Ukuwai Street in a black Chevrolet that was waiting at the scene.

HPD provided these suspect descriptions:

 •   Suspect #1: Male, 40s, 5’9”, 190 lbs., heavy build, brown shaved hair, dark complexion, wearing a black long-sleeve jacket, black jeans and a ski mask.

   •   Suspect #2: Male, 40s, 5’7”, 170 lbs., medium build, black shaved hair, sunglasses, black long-sleeve jacket, black jeans, armed with a handgun resembling a Glock.

   •   Suspect #3: Male, 30s, 5’3”, 150 lbs., heavy build, black straight medium-length hair, wearing a black long-sleeve jacket.
