HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department has opened attempted murder investigations in Kalihi and Honolulu following two different reports of gun violence, the department said on Sept. 18.
According to HPD, the Kalihi investigation stems from a confrontation that occurred on Sept. 17 before 10:30 p.m.
Three male victims, ages 27, 33 and 29, were in a sedan traveling down Gulick Avenue when a man in his 20s approached their car, fired one shot and fled the area, investigators said.
The suspect is known to the victims, according to authorities. No injuries were reported in this case.
In Honolulu, HPD opened a separate investigation after a 21-year-old man was dropped off at a hospital with a gunshot wound on Sept. 17 at 11 p.m., where he remains in critical condition, police said.
Anyone with any information on either case is strongly urged to contact 911 or visit any police station.
