Human remains found on Big Island property

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Police have opened an unattended death investigation after human remains were found on a property in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision.

Hawaii Island police said shortly before 12:40 p.m., Tuesday, detectives responded to a report of a decomposed body on the property.

Police found the body of a male with suspicious injuries on the block of Lotus Blossom Ln.

Due to the body being in advanced stages of decomposition, the identity of the male and the exact cause of death could not be determined. 

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
