HONOLULU (KHON2) — Kilauea Volcano continues to show signs of unrest within the Hawaii National Park, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) reports Friday.
The volcano’s alert status remains to “ADVISORY,” indicating that while volcanic activity has decreased, there is a possibility it could increase again.
According to HVO, these conditions indicate that magma has moved into the Middle East Rift Zone. The current volcanic activity does not pose danger to neighboring residential communities.
