KAUAI, Hawaii (KHON2) — The Kauaʻi Fire Department extinguished a fire at a Kapaʻa restaurant on Friday, July 25.
The fire was reported at Olympic Café around 3:45 a.m., KFD officials said.
Upon authorities’ arrival, firefighters found the building on fire and were able to extinguish the fire, officials said. The fire originated from the second floor of the structure, KFD said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, and the scene was clearly in approximately two hours.
After the fire’s conclusion, the KFD Fire Prevention Bureau took over the scene with their investigators to look into the damage estimates and origin of the fire.
As a result of the investigation, the structure and its contents sustained approximately $369,000 in damages, and the cause was determined as accidental.
