KAUAI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Kauaʻi Poke Fest took place on June 13 and June 14, with attendees looking to celebrate the favorite local dish at the Kōloa Landing Resort in Poʻipū.
The fest featured prior poke champions Don Gusman and Grecean Manuel as headliners, with their culinary battle to determine the ultimate champion being a centerpiece of the event.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back both Don Gusman and Grecean Manuel, two incredibly talented chefs who have helped elevate the reputation of Kauaʻi Poke Fest,” Aaron Bambling, general manager of Kōloa Landing Resort, said. “Their return, along with the fresh wave of new competitors, set the tone for an exciting and elevated culinary experience.”
On June 13, the fest highlighted the first-ever Poke Masters’ Table, with a five-course dining experience hosted by KHON2’s own Sam Choy, followed with a lineup of celebrity chefs across the world.
June 14 brought the main Kauaʻi Poke Fest Competition, allowing for poke tasting, drinks and voting for the people’s choice winner.
