HONOLULU (KHON2) – On Saturday, Sept. 27, two multiagency searches have been suspended for two missing men in the waters and surrounding areas of Kauai.
The two men who went missing, Kyle Barrett and Bryson Higashi, were last seen on Sept. 23, both at different times in the afternoon.
Barrett, a 37-year-old male, was last seen near the entrance of Queen’s Bath at around 7:30 p.m., wearing a white aloha shirt, dark shorts, and sunglasses. He weighs about 210 pounds, stands at six feet four inches, and has brown eyes and brown hair.
Higashi, a 44-year-old male, was last seen in Hanalei at around 4:30 p.m., standing at five feet 10 inches, weighing approximately 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
As far as search operations, the Kauai Police Department, Fire, and Search and Rescue Departments, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard, the Department of Land and Natural Resources, and the Ocean Safety Bureau, searched by air, land, and sea near Queen’s Bath and Hanalei through Saturday afternoon.
