Kunia fire deemed no accident, intentionally set: HFD

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The brush fire in Kunia was intentionally set, determined Honolulu Fire Department investigators on Aug. 20.

The fire started on Aug. 19 around 2:45 p.m. and continued to smolder the next day.

HFD and Federal Fire Department trucks helped fight the fire as residents in the Kunia Camp area were evacuated.

Kunia Road and Anonui Street to Lyman Gate were closed off during the fire.

Investigation is still pending, no arrest has been made.
