HONOLULU (KHON2) — On Aug. 14, a motorcycle crash occurred on the H-1 Freeway in the Kalihi area, near the Middle Street overpass.
A 22-year-old motorcyclist was speeding westbound when he lost control and collided into the guardrail around 1:45 a.m., reported the Honolulu Police Department.
At the time of the crash, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and thrown onto the roadway, HPD said.
He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition by Emergency Medical Services.
Police said the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This is the 51st traffic fatality of 2025 on Oahu.
