Man, 23, dead after early morning Ewa Beach collision

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 23-year-old male motorcyclist is dead following an early morning Ewa Beach collision on Sept. 1.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:36 a.m., the Honolulu Police Department said.

Authorities say the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Kuhina Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his bike and collided into an unattended parked vehicle.

As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway, HPD said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, police said.

This marks the 57th traffic fatality on Oʻahu, compared to 28 at this time last year.
