HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Police Department is investigating an attempted murder case that took place in the early morning hours of Feb. 23, which left a 31-year-old man hospitalized in critical condition.
The incident happened in the Lanakila area, where police responded to reports of gunshots and people screaming around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers learned that the 31-year-old victim was gathered with a group of friends in a parking lot when gunshots were fired toward the group.
The victim and his friends attempted to flee the area, but the 31-year-old was hit by a bullet. He was then transported via a personal vehicle to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, and the investigation is ongoing.
