Man, 65, critically injured in Waikīkī assault

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department opened an Assault in the Second Degree case after finding an injured, unresponsive man at a Waikīkī bus stop on Sept. 23.

Authorities first responded to the scene shortly before 5 a.m., where they found a 65-year-old man lying on a mattress bleeding from his head.

According to HPD, the bleeding likely stemmed from apparent blunt force injuries to the man’s head.

The man was then taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, investigators said.
