HONOLULU (KHON2) — First responders were at the scene of an apparent shooting Tuesday just before 11 a.m. near the Waianae Boat Harbor.
A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to EMS.
No schools were placed in lockdown, according to HPD.
HPD said the suspectʻs vehicle was located near the Waianae Comprehensive Center.
“The suspect fled on foot after crashing the vehicle and was taken into custody. Charges are pending,” HPD said in a statement on social media.
The Honolulu Police Department is investigating and will provide an update in a news conference at a yet to be determined time.
