HONOLULU (KHON2) — A man estimated to be in his 40s is dead following a fatal motor vehicle collision on the Karsten Thot Bridge in Wahiawa, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said.
The collision occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on Oct. 12.
HPD said the man was speeding northbound on Kamehameha Highway on his motorcycle when he attempted to overtake a vehicle and lost control.
He then struck a concrete curb, where he was thrown onto the roadway, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing a helmet, officials said.
This marks Oʻahu’s 66th traffic fatality this year, compared to 35 at the same time in 2024.
