Man in critical condition after being hit while lying on Chinatown road

HONOLULU (KHON2) — An overnight crash in Chinatown disrupted two men’s lives Tuesday.

A 76-year-old man was traveling southbound on Nuuanu Avenue when he collided with a pedestrian who was lying in the road at the intersection with North Hotel Street.

The pedestrian, a 38-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.


Hawaii ranked #2 for most dangerous state for pedestrians

The 76-year-old remained at the scene and was not injured.

Officials reported that the pedestrian’s condition deteriorated to critical condition at the hospital.
