The event, which marks its sixth year, will conclude with the 6th Annual Hannah Brown Memorial Impaired Driving Awareness Checkpoint.

Hannah Brown, a 19-year-old from Maui, was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 2019.

The event is organized by the Maui Police Department’s Traffic Division, the Hawaii Alcohol Policy Alliance (HIAPA), the Maui Coalition for Drug-Free Youth, the Hawaii Public Health Institute, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the family and friends of Hannah Brown.

This year, the public is urged to take extra precautions when celebrating and drinking during the holidays.

The campaign is designed to change behaviors and encourage responsible decisions so that no family should have to endure the heartache of losing a loved one to impaired driving.
