HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Maui Princess, a popular dinner cruise, is stuck in shallow water.
The boat initially ran aground Thursday morning off the coast of Lahaina.
Since then it has been pushed further in towards the shore.
The boat owner is currently working to remove it during a high tide to avoid hitting any reed or rocks.
The state added it will check for damage to surrounding reef once the boat is removed.
They confirmed there were no injuries and there are no fuel or oil leaks as of Friday afternoon.
The reason for the grounding isn’t known at the moment.
