Mokulele Airlines grounds flights for inspection

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Mokulele Airlines will temporarily suspend part of its fleet from Saturday, August 17 through Tuesday, August 20, to conduct inspections and address findings from a routine maintenance check, according to HDOT.

Mokulele Airlines serves several in-state airports:

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL)

Kahului Airport (OGG)

Kapalua Airport (LUP)

Hāna Airport (HNM)

Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keāhole (KOA)

Waimea-Kohala Airport (MUF)

Molokaʻi Airport (MKK)

Kalaupapa Airport (JHM)

Lānaʻi Airport (LNY)

Mokulele Airlines will be offering limited flights between OGG, MKK, HNL, and LNY and utilize other airlines to minimize passenger disruption.

On Sunday, August 18, the airline will operate at half capacity, with at least three flights with 24 seats into MKK and 12 seats departing MKK per flight.

Mokulele has stopped taking reservations for this weekend.

Restoration of normal operations is expected by Wednesday, August 21.
