Motorcyclist injured in serious hit-and-run in Waipahu area

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A serious hit-and-run crash involving a motorcyclist occurred on the H-2 Freeway in the Waipahu area on Sunday.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, the 21-year-old was travelling westbound on the H-1, exiting onto the H-2 northbound when an unknown motorist rear-ended his motorcycle.

Following the collision, the male motorcyclist was thrown onto the road. The unidentified motorist continued traveling northbound on the H-2 without stopping.

Medics transported the man to the hospital in critical condition. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
