HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department said they received a 911 call alerting them of a fire in Nanakuli.
The call came in at 5:02 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 and led HPD a building at 87-1621 Kanahale Road.
HFD 25 personnel in nine units to respond; and by 5:14 a.m. the teams were working to resolve a fire involving a few portable homes.
Once firefighters secured their water source, they aggressively moved to contain the blaze and ensure that there were no occupants still in the building.
HFD said they were able to get the fire under control by 5:33 a.m. and that they fully extinguished it by 6:28 a.m.
HFD confirmed that there was one person who needed to transported via Honolulu Emergency Medical Services.
EMS documents confirm that personnel transported a 65-year-old female in stable condition. According to EMS, she suffered burns from the fire and was taken to a local area emergency room.
HFD said an investigation has begun to determine the cause of the fire.
