Over 100 volunteers join mass cleanup effort in Chinatown

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Over a hundred volunteers participated in an annual mass clean-up in Chinatown on Saturday morning.

Organized by the City and County of Honolulu partnered with several businesses, the event focused on removing trash from sidewalks and roadways, and repainting over graffiti on buildings, bridges and traffic control boxes.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii also encouraged volunteers to support Chinatown merchants by making purchases, with receipts serving as entries for a chance to win gift cards to Murphy’s Bar & Grill located on Merchant Street.
