Pedestrian struck, killed in Ala Moana motor vehicle collision

ALA MOANA, Hawaii (KHON2) — Oahu saw its 18th traffic fatality of 2024 after a pedestrian was struck and killed in the Ala Moana area on Friday.

Honolulu Police and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident around 9:20 p.m. when it was reported that a 51-year-old female driver struck an unidentified male pedestrian.


2 dead, 1 in critical condition following multiple crashes on Oahu

HPD reported the pedestrian was attempting to walk outside a marked crosswalk at the Ala Moana Boulevard and Queen Street intersection.

Officials said the female driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

EMS transported the man in critical condition “to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.”

Officials said this is Oahu’s 18th traffic fatality, compared to 28 traffic fatalities reported by this time in 2023.
