HONOLULU (KHON2) — Charlie Kirk attended an event at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa alongside Pro-Trump commentator and activist Candace Owens in September 2018.
Organized by the Hawaii Republican Party, the event was aimed at bringing an alternative political perspective to the campus.

Kirk was shot at a rally for his Turning Point organization in Utah on Sept. 10.
This prompted statements from local leaders, including Gov. Josh Green, expressing their support and thoughts for his family and condemning violence.

“There is no place in Hawaiʻi or in our country for political violence. We may disagree on policies, but we must never allow division to turn into hate or harm,” Green said. “Democracy only survives when we resolve our differences through respect, dialogue and compassion.”
