HONOLULU (KHON2) — Check your fridge because some peaches are being recalled due to potential Listeria contamination.
State health officials say the affected products were sold by Moonlight Companies, which is sold at Costco, Target, Whole Foods, Times Supermarket and Big Save in Hawai‘i.
The Moonlight Companies’ yellow and white peaches were distributed to stores as individual pieces or in packs between Sept. 16 and Oct. 29.
The Department of Health is working directly with the stores to ensure these recalled products are no longer available for purchase.
If you have these peaches, seal them in a zip-top bag, throw them away, wash your hands and sanitize all areas that came in contact with the product, officials say.
This recall does not include any of the company’s packages or PLU stickers with the words “Washington” and “Organic” on them.
If exposed, it can cause listeriosis, which could result in symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle aches, nausea and abdominal pain that could develop up to two months after exposure.
Currently, there have been no reported illnesses linked to these peaches.
If you have any questions about the products or refunds, call Moonlight Companies at 855-215-5017 Monday through Friday from 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. HST.
