HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department responded to an incident reported as a confined rescue Tuesday morning at the Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The incident was reported around 8 a.m. and by 8:30 the patient was transferred to EMS for care.
Officials said a 32-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his leg and back after he fell into a manhole.
The man was taken to an emergency room in serious condition.
