Six Hawaii softball players earn All-Big West Honors

The Hawaii Rainbow Wahine softball team earned six All-Big West Honors this season, as voted by the conference coaches.

Izabella Martinez and Maya Nakamura were both selected to the the all-conference second team.

Chloe Borges, Haley Johnson, Mya’Liah Bethea, and Dallas Millwood were all named with honorable mention honors.

Nakamura’s season was cut short due to a season-ending injury, but still led UH in batting averages in both overall and conference play. This is her third time making the all-Big West second team.

Martinez hit .298 this season for Hawaii and finished with 39 hits (tied for second on the team). The catcher officially earned all-conference honors for the second straight year.

Mya’Liah Bethea led the conference in homeruns (12) for the second straight season.

Borges started a career-high 39 games at the centerfield position, Johnson earned honorable mention for the second time in her career, and Millwood earned her second Big West Honorable Mention as well.

Hawaii ended the season 20-26 overall and 13-12 in conference play.
