Spreading holiday cheer: Hawaiian Airlines expands winter schedule, adds additional flights

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaiian Airlines added seasonal service to meet peak travel demands for the upcoming holiday season.

More flights will be available between Honolulu and Los Angeles, Seattle, and Sydney.

“We’re excited to offer our guests more options to connect with loved ones or enjoy a warm winter getaway,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines. “These schedule enhancements reflect our commitment to providing convenient, comfortable travel during the busiest travel period of the year.”

Santa’s sleigh is also getting an upgrade this winter. Starting in January, passengers will be able to fly aboard the new Hawaiian Boeing 787 Dreamliner between Seattle (SEA) and Tokyo’s Narita (NRT).

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be replacing the Airbus A330 on the SEA to NRT route. The Dreamline offers new suites with lie-flat seating, enhanced privacy, advanced in-flight entertainment, and more.

Hawaiian’s Winter 2025-26 Schedule Enhancements:

Honolulu (HNL) to Sydney (SYD): Increase from five flights weekly to daily between Dec. 18 to Jan 31.

Honolulu (HNL) to Los Angeles (LAX): A fifth daily flight will be added in these prime travel windows from Nov. 21 to Dec. 1 and Dec. 19 to Jan. 6.

Honolulu (HNL) to Seattle (SEA): A fourth daily widebody flight will be added between late November and mid-April. The new morning departure from Honolulu and early evening return from Seattle will increase the daily flights to six.

This holiday season, there will be enough seats to fit you, your loved ones, and Santa’s reindeer.
