Taylor Swift is coming to Hawaiʻi’s Consolidated Theaters!

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Taylor Swift fans across Hawaiʻi will have three days to celebrate the singer’s newest album at Consolidated Theaters.

The company is hosting a special film event, “Taylor Swift: Life of a Showgirl,” from Oct. 3 through Oct. 5.

Rod Tengan, spokesperson for Consolidated Theaters, said the excitement is already high.

“On Oct. 3, 4 and 5, we’ll be screening the Taylor Swift launch party of her new album,” Tengan said. “And we’re going to have showings as early as 9 a.m. at some locations, but it’s going to be playing at all Consolidated Theaters.”

Where to watch

Screenings will be available at every Consolidated Theaters location statewide, including the Alamo Theater in Kapolei, Pearl Ridge at Pearlridge Mall, Mililani Theater at Mililani Town Center, Kāhala Theaters at Kāhala Mall and Ward 16 at Ward Entertainment Center.

Tickets are on sale now at Consolidated Theaters’ website.

“All tickets are going to be $12 plus tax,” Tengan said. “For our premium screens, our Titan Luxe screens, they’re $15 plus tax. So, I mean, just a set price for all the shows, all the seats.”

Tengan said there are private watch parties also available, and those ticket prices are set at the same $12 rate.

We were able to catch up with a Swiftie who became a devoted fan after hearing the Folklore album.

“I went to the Eras Tour show, and I was blown away with her passion and creativity; I even bought the popcorn tub,” explained Cate Piper Labas. “I am really looking forward to Life of a Showgirl. I see and feel my experiences in Taylor’s work, and there’s something from her for every stage of my life. So, yeah, I am super excited about this new album.”

Why it matters

Tengan said demand for Swift’s projects has been remarkable as they have proven their power at the box office time and again.

“Based on her Eras Tour movie, people need to jump on these tickets really quickly,” he said. “It was a phenomenon. I mean, she’s a phenomenon.”

Events like this are now a growing part of Consolidated Theaters’ offerings with the company leaning into diversifying their offerings outside of standard movie offerings.

“A movie in itself is an experience,” Tengan said. “But there are alternative contents such as this. These concerts, her tour movie. We have other types of events that we do as well.”
