HONOLULU (KHON2) — For many families, the best time of year is Christmas in Hawaii.
Waikiki’s International Market Place was bustling with visitors and locals spending their Christmas shopping or enjoying the beach.
“My parents did their honeymoon here 32 years ago,” stated Victoria Cho. “It’s the first time that we’ve been back and it’s been really fun being able to visit all the different sites. It’s really great with all the city life, being able to go out, having a lot of different options with shopping, food, dining.”
Others made going to the movies an annual holiday tradition.
“This year is more exciting because Wicked, Wicked, Wicked forever,” stated a Wicked super fan. “Today is the nationwide singalong for Wicked. So, we can’t wait to watch it and sing out loud.”
Those wishing for a winter wonderland enjoyed a cold Christmas at Hawaii’s only ice skating rink – one of few places open during the holidays.
“We’re celebrating, we’re having family time, and we’re here at the skating rink just going to have a lot of fun together,” said the Zeager Ohana.
