HONOLULU (KHON2) — People have always needed to let out their feelings. It’s just part of being human. But when you live in a community, it’s not always easy to find a safe way to express your anger or frustration.
Exercise is a great way to deal with strong emotions, but sometimes you just want to hang out with friends and have some fun while letting it all out.
That’s where batting cages come in. They’re a perfect mix of stress relief and pure enjoyment. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the sound of the bat connecting with the ball, the rush of focus and the release that follows each powerful swing.
It’s not just about improving your swing or pretending you’re in the majors; it’s about channeling emotions into motion.
Whether you’re laughing with friends between turns, competing to see who can hit the farthest, or just losing yourself in the rhythm of the pitch, batting cages offer a healthy outlet for frustration and energy alike.
Let’s take a look at some of Hawaiʻi’s batting cage options.

Now, there are also batting cages that offer training and spaces for keiki. These are some of the ones we were able to verify.
On Maui, there’s Hitter’s Paradise; and they have a workshop with University of Hawaiʻi’s baseball coach and Rick Hill and his team on Nov. 15. Registration is open.
Momentum Training Center is located in Kaneohe and offers training in a safe environment with consistent coaching. They’re open all year round and offer baseball, football and soccer (futbol) training and practice resources.
“The popularity for batting cages has never been better,” said Harold Iseke of MTC. “There are simply not enough fields to accommodate all the teams and players on Oʻahu. We built this cage for that exact reason, our team would always need to look for space on random fields, and it was a coin toss if we could practice that day.”
Oʻahu Baseball Academy offers individualized instruction on baseball and softball for all sexes. Their goal is to cultivate superstar players to represent Hawaiʻi.
“Oʻahu Baseball Academy is wildly popular as our focus is to develop young local players for high school teams, to get recruitment and scholarships for college and even to make it to the MLB like many of our incredible coaches,” explained Jeff Bartlett, owner of OBA. “We see both baseball players and girls who play softball.”
He went on to explain that across the island, batting cages are enjoying a great deal of interest because of all the talented players that come from Hawaiʻi.
