Tua leads Dolphins into rivalry game on Thursday Night Football

Hawaii’s own Tua Tagovailoa will take center stage in the NFL’s Week 2 opener, as the Miami Dolphins face off against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football.

The Saint Louis School graduate is coming off a league-best performance, throwing for 338 yards in a win over Jacksonville. However, the challenge ahead is a familiar one. In his first four seasons, Tagovailoa holds a 1-6 record against the Bills, including a loss in last season’s regular-season finale that cost Miami the division title.

“Last year is last year brother. What a political answer, Oh my gosh,” Tagovailoa said with a laugh. “Last year is last year brother. We worry about this year”

“That’s going to be what’s written out there until we do something about that. That’s going to be the narrative, that we can’t beat the Bills. And until we do beat them, and we beat them consistently, none of that’s going to change. And we have an opportunity to do that this year. We have an opportunity to do that this Thursday.”

Kickoff between the Dolphins and Bills is set for 2:15 p.m. Hawaii time, and the game will be streamed live on Prime Video.

Despite recent struggles against their division rival, Miami enters the game as 2-point favorites.
